Secrets Of The Will Smith Workout
Will Smith’s workout consist of a five day per week training program.
The workout is designed so that he only trains two body parts per workout.
This type of training has produced incredible results for him, as you can see in the various movie roles he has played. Movies like… Ali, I am legend and I, Robot.
It’s no wonder that he can bench press 385 pounds for reps.
His personal trainer Darrell Foster takes special care to make sure that Will Smith gets the results he needs in his workout sessions, to accurately portray his characters on screen.
Will Smith’s Workout
Before we get into the specifics of the Will Smith Workout, let me explain something so there’s no confusion.
First, celebrities like Smith are paid millions of dollars to get in shape in a very short period of time. They train for a few hours every day. Pretty much it’s their job!
They have the best personal trainers that money can buy and of course access to quality health club.
Now, with that being said, it is possible for any individual to achieve similar results without having to join a gym or spend thousands of dollars for a celebrity personal trainer.
All you need is discipline, proper supplements and some inexpensive home gym equipment.
Here’s the equipment that I recommend:

To get ready for these roles you will probably find Smith running at least 5 miles a day six days a week. He also boxes twice a week.
Foster commented… "There is no better fitness regimen that the one a professional fighter uses."
Will Smith’s Diet
His diet is a high protein, high carbohydrate diet to maximize muscle repair.
As Will Smith’s metabolic rate cranked up from the extra muscle he was carrying, Foster slowly reduced the amount of food Smith was eating to encourage his body to burn more fat (this was in the cutting phase.)
He did not cut his carbs severely because as an actor you need to have a certain amount of glucose in order to remember your lines!
How Will Smith Increased His Bench Pressing
Smith used a pyramid routine for his bench press workouts. He would perform either an incline or a flat bench press.
Here is how to use a pyramid routine:
1. Warm up with Three Sets of 10 Repetitions
Increase the weight with each set but remember to stay below 70% of your one repetition maximum. Will Smith for example bench pressed… 135, 185 and 225 for his warm-ups.
2. Take a weight that is at least 80% of your one rep Max and do up to six sets of just one repetition.
Increase the amount of weight for each set by small percentage, 5% or less. Here is how Will Smith did it… 315, 335, 355, 365, 375, and 385. Then go back and reverse it… back to the weight you used for your first one rep set.
3. Finally, to finish off his chest Smith would bench press 315 pounds for two sets of five reps, then he would grab 135 pounds and bench until failure!
That is the "Secret" of Will Smith’s Workout and bench press routine.
